Our
Mission:
Core purpose. To inspire and prepare young people to succeed
in a global economy. |
|
|
Founded in 1919, Junior Achievement is the
country's oldest and largest provider of economic education for
youth. Their ability to succeed in a global marketplace will be
critical to sustaining the US free enterprise system and as a
result, Junior Achievement programs are now offered in traditional
classrooms and in after school settings. "JA" is now a solution to an imperative issue: Preparing the future
business leaders of tomorrow, our youth.

FACTS ABOUT JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT OF DALLAS AND
NORTHEAST TEXAS
 |
Since 1954 JA of Dallas has been partnering
with businesses and school districts throughout northeast Texas.
Since 1990 Junior Achievement has increased the number of area
classes by nearly 195% through alliances with nearly 900
companies and over 2,000 business and community volunteers. Although this
represents significant growth, the request for JA programs
continues to surpass our existing
resources.
|
 |
In
the 2008/2009 school year business volunteers will serve as
"teaching" volunteers in nearly 2,200 area classrooms
and after school sites, reaching
nearly 45,000 students with our sequential K-12 economic
education programs.
|
 |
Junior Achievement of Dallas practices superior fiscal
management with nearly 80% of all dollars raised going directly
to program support. As a result, we have been the seven-year
recipient of the prestigious National Summit Award. JA raises
55% of its operating budget from special events. Remaining
capital is raised through corporate contributions, individual
contributions and foundation grants. Junior Achievement
is not a United Way Agency. |
