On Saturday, February 29, 2020, the 22nd Annual Junior Achievement of Dallas Business Hall of Fame® took place at the Omni Hotel in Downtown Dallas.
The night kicked off as JA Dallas students reminisced on their unique experience with JA Dallas over the past year. Attendees were given a glimpse of their impact and got to hear what it means to be a JA Dallas Student.
Mason Gutierrez, 3rd grader at Geneva Heights Elementary, shared, "My JA volunteer, Mark, from Nokia, taught me about money! How to earn, save, spend and donate it. I also learned how to be an accountant. I had so much fun! We learned that entrepreneurs make businesses to meet the needs and wants of citizens."
The program included: Scott Murray, Hall of Fame Moderator; Bobby L. Lyle, 2020 Event Chair; several of JA Dallas' students who helped with the event's live auction; the Student of The Year Sandi Smith Scholarship Presentation, and the 2020 Laureates getting inducted into the Dallas Business Hall of Fame®.
At the end of the night, the 2020 JA Dallas Laureates: Melissa Reiff, CEO & Chairwoman of The Container Store; John Field Scovell, Chairman of Woodbine Development; Kelcy L. Warren, Energy Transfer CEO & Chairman, were inducted into the Dallas Business Hall of Fame®.
